About Us

The Utah Valley Chapter of the American Payroll Association strives to help its members and the payroll profession by:

• providing quality educational and training opportunities

• contributing in positive ways in our communities

• keeping abreast of and sharing important regulatory information and changes

• extending a hand of fellowship to all payroll professionals

Education and Training Opportunities

This chapter holds around 4 meetings each year and we participate in a Utah Statewide meeting with the Utah Chapter. Each of our 4 meetings focuses on important and trending payroll topics. Whether it’s technological changes or new regulations which impact the companies we work for, we strive to provide you with quality training opportunities throughout the year. We usually meet once each quarter and then hold our Statewide meeting sometime in the 3rd quarter. With each chapter meeting we provide lunch as you learn from our key speaker. We also coordinate with the American Payroll Association to offer Recertification Credit Hours (RCHs) for each of our meetings and for the Statewide event. Our meetings offer a great value and price per RCH!

Each year we try to hold a Certified Payroll Professional boot camp for those looking to prepare for the Certified Payroll Professional exam. Usually held just once a year in the fall, this boot camp helps you work through the Payroll Source book material in preparation for the exam. The boot camp also provides (RCHs) for those who have already passed the exam. RCH hours will be given in certificate form at the end of the boot camp training.

Payroll Professional Certifications

At the national level, the American Payroll Association offers two certification tracks for those in the Payroll industry – the Fundamental Payroll Certification and the Certified Payroll Professional. Both certifications recognize the proficiency we must acquire in various facets of our jobs as Payroll professionals. Each certification promotes you as a professional with exceptional qualifications in a deeply regulated professional field. As a certified professional, you stand out amongst your peers as an exceptional and knowledgeable payroll professional.
